
Edgar Gabriel’s StringFusion is an exciting jazz-fusion ensemble from Chicago. With former Cirque du Soleil electric violinist Edgar Gabriel at the helm, StringFusion's jazz infused with classical, rock and world music takes its audience on a musical journey transcending time, geography and cultures. StringFusion's vast repertoire of classic rock, jazz, fusion and virtuoso violin literature is sure to have something for everyone.
StringFusion's covers include jazz-fusion and album rock from the late 1960's -1970's such as Jean-Luc Ponty, Frank Zappa, Return to Forever, Jimi Hendrix, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Santana, Weather Report, King Crimson, Charlie Daniels, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers, Kansas, Stevie Wonder and Edgar Winter. Gypsy music is a staple of StringFusion's material for they perform classical Csardas' and gypsy jazz of Django Rheinhardt. Seasoned jazz musicians, StringFusion is very comfortable playing straight-ahead jazz (listen to "I Knew That"). An accomplished violinist, Edgar and StringFusion add entertaining elements to virtuoso classical works such as "The Flight of the Bumble Bee" and J.S. Bach "Partitas".
The Concert in the Park begins Wednesday evening in Deacon Mills Park at 6:30 pm. So come and gather in front of the Starlite Stage for two hours of live music. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the live music!
